no more sadlands

wasting away in the badlands
drifting and burning my hands
i can see forever nothing to feel
hoping to god that it's not real

because how would i go on
without the love that i hold on
tips of the fingers touching
close and far - almost nothing

turmoil and strain rack my brain
cannot hide, cannot comfort the pain

wait! while the sands go on
in my ears, in my eyes i hold on
people may come and go
but the feelings remain constant and slow
those days may be gone for now
but the future remains and i realize how...

...spring flowers are bursting from the ground
life goes in circles, everything comes 'round
majestic rising from the desert
no longer misery pressuring my veins

bright, shining, triumphant skies
letting in the sun, breaking all of my past ties

it makes for a freedom unlike all others
free to be happy with others
